Exceptional Eyes!!

6 Jun

Your eyes are the first place that we show aging.  So one of the first things that we need to make sure is that we have a Fabulous eye cream!  One of the main things about aging is hydration.  If your skin isn’t hydrated watch the wrinkles appear.  So,  number one in an eye cream is make sure that it is very hydrating.  I know that for me you should probably start using an eye cream once you graduate high school.  I KNOW I KNOW  crazy but true.  I thought I was super young and I was and then I was walking down the mall one day and one of the kiosk ladies asked me do you want to know how you can get rid of those eye wrinkles and I was APPAULED  I do not have eye wrinkles.  But I went home and sure enough they had crept up on me.  The sad part is I had a FABULOUS eye cream in my make up bag I just wasn’t consistently using it.  So moral of the story start using it so you don’t have to worry about them coming for years.  Great thing though they dissappeared so even better news people you can reverse the hands of father time!!  A great eye cream can have vitamin c, collagen producing peptides.  You can also look for an eye cream that brightens to help if you have light circles.

Anti-Aging Eye Creams For Wrinkles

  • Wrinkles and fine lines around the eye area are always associated with aging;  ingredients in anti-aging eye creams such as caffeine, alcohol, retinol,  alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), copper peptides and vitamin C are used to tighten  skin and stimulate collagen growth. Collagen gives skin elasticity and  hydration, giving it a more youthful look

How to avoid wrinkles!

How to Reduce Wrinkles: What You Can Do

Ok so I read this article.  I loved it these are things you can do without spending a ton of money!!  So important and so many things you can do to help.  Hope you all have

1.Avoid the sun. It’s the No. 1 cause of wrinkles, with dozens of studies documenting the impact. In one study that looked at identical twins, New York plastic surgeon Darrick Antell, MD, found sun exposure was even more important than heredity. Siblings who limited sun time had fewer wrinkles and looked younger overall than their sun-worshiping twins.

2.Wear sunscreen. If you must go out in the sun, the American Academy of Dermatology says, wear sunscreen! It will protect you from skin cancer, and help prevent wrinkles at the same time.

3. Don’t smoke. Some of the research is still controversial, but more and more studies are confirming that cigarette smoke ages skin — mostly by releasing an enzyme that breaks down collagen and elastin, important components of the skin. Sibling studies done at the Twin Research Unit at St. Thomas Hospital in London found the brother or sister who smoked tended to have skin that was more wrinkled and up to 40% thinner than the non-smoker.

4. Get adequate sleep. Yale dermatologist Nicholas Perricone, MD, says that when you don’t get enough sleep, the body produces excess cortisol, a hormone that breaks down skin cells. Get enough rest, Perricone says, and you’ll produce more HGH (human growth hormone), which helps skin remain thick, more “elastic,” and less likely to wrinkle.

5. Sleep on your back. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) cautions that sleeping in certain positions night after night leads to “sleep lines — wrinkles that become etched into the surface of the skin and don’t disappear once you’re up. Sleeping on your side increases wrinkles on cheeks and chin, while sleeping face-down gives you a furrowed brow. To reduce wrinkle formation, the AAD says, sleep on your back.

6. Don’t squint — get reading glasses! The AAD says any repetitive facial movement — like squinting — overworks facial muscles, forming a groove beneath the skin’s surface. This groove eventually becomes a wrinkle. Also important: Wear sunglasses. It will protect skin around the eyes from sun damage — and further keep you from squinting.

Flawless and Fair vs. Wrinkly and Dark!

18 Apr

How many of us LOVE the sun.  I do and I LOVED sun bathing.  I would do all the outside chores, I would play the guitar out in the sun.  I would lay a blanket out on the grass and do homework.  I would do a ton just out in the sun! I used to try to be two to three shades darker in foundation and all over.  I have a friend that LOVES to fake bake and she used to tell me “Tan fat is better than white fat!”  haha still makes me laugh.  Although sometimes I think that is true.  I finally decided I would rather have flawless fair skin than Wrinkly dark skin.  Now don’t get me wrong I wish I was just a couple shades darker, but if I have to choose between aging and fair skin I have decided I would rather be fair.  The FDA and health department says we need to have atleast 30spf on our faces every day whether the sun is out or not.  I have a friend that got skin cancer from the iradescent lights in her office building.  You never know where the damage is coming from!  Decide today you are going to take better care of your skin!  I know for me.  I have not sun bathed since high school I go out in the sun.  But I don’t go out for the only purpose to sunbathe and I also put sunscreen on.  I know some of us that are oily skin have problems with sunscreen because it just makes us feel oily.  I had to find a sunscreen that is made specifically for the face and that is light.  Then it didn’t make me more oily and make me feel like grease pit.  So make sure you find the right kind 🙂  Much love to you and your skin!  Take care of it because guess what you will have it for the rest of your life.  You might can pay a doctor to move it around but unless you get a face plant you will have the skin you have chosen to take care of or the lack therof.

Worst Ways to Age yourself!!

11 Apr

Ok so maybe not the WORST thing but DEFINITELY the worst way with fashion! How many of you are in the wrong or have seen it happen. One of the ways that will make you look 10 to 20 years older is Staying in the decade you think you looked the best!! 🙂 Don’t be mad so sorry if I am going to make you upset. If you haven’t had a compliment on your hair in the last two weeks CUT it, Dye it, or Buy some more of it!! 🙂 Lol! Hair ages you so fast. If you have a ratted hair nest on top of your head and you can see the air in between it. That is TOO RATTED!! 🙂 Now don’t get me wrong I do tease my hair but you aren’t supposed to see the ratted part. Give your hair some lift or volume, but don’t make it look TOO big. Don’t have platinum hair even if you think that is the color of your natural hair color or it “used” to be it isn’t anymore it probably has some gray. I think making your hair a warm brown or red makes you look so young. You lose pigment in skin, hair, lips, etc… That is why you want to warm everything up. Warm hair, warm cheeks (coral), warm lips (coral or warm pink), warm foundation (most women not all). Also what’s up with the MOM JEANS!! Ugh! One of the WORST offenses! Get a modern cut not low rise but midrise. It will only make you look thinner because it will it you in the middle of the belly and not bulge out under the waist to make you look PREGNANT!! haha ok did you notice I went on a rant today 🙂 I probably will every once in awhile but really I promise get something a little modern, but don’t go completely the other direction and try to be too young that doesn’t work either. Don’t wear the worded Tees that are too tight and usually too short. Get a straight leg pant with dark denim it is ALWAYS more slimming! And a fitted top, not tight 🙂 there is a difference. If I didn’t LOVE my job I might be a shopping assistant and dress people!! How much fun would that be!

Try to Moisturize Corn Flakes!

21 Mar

If you don’t regularly exfoliate dead skin cells stay on the top layer of your skin and blown up they look like corn flakes.  Do you like the picture 🙂  Moisturizing is sooooo important and I talked about that in an earlier post Click Here.  If you don’t exfoliate that layer or the top couple layers when you moisturize it is like trying to moisturize corn flakes 🙂  It won’t hydrate your living skin!  (Great visual huh)  Microdermabrasion is one of the best extra exfoliation treatments I think you can do.  It helps slough off the dead skin layers helps with collagen and you usually see benefits texture, color, and tone of your skin.  It also helps with making your pores look smaller, unclog pores, reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars.  It also increases circulation and lymph flow.  Which most of these things I knew I did not know about the lymph flow.  Based off of this article Aluminum oxide crystals are the best for microdermabrasion they are hard enough to exfoliate really well, but won’t micro tear your skin like other exfoliators.  Click Here  Make sure you are weary of exfoliator masks with fruit pits they crush them and because of their jagged edges can micro tear your skin.  Which can make your skin get infllamed.  Yikes.  There are lots of brands my fav for quality and price is Mary Kay microdermabrasion.  If you break down in price per use it is under $2,00.  AWESOME!!  Most microdermabrasion sets only come with the scrub this is a two step program which has an awesome serum to follow up the scrub!!!  LOVE it! 🙂
