How to Reduce Wrinkles: What You Can Do

Ok so I read this article.  I loved it these are things you can do without spending a ton of money!!  So important and so many things you can do to help.  Hope you all have

1.Avoid the sun. It’s the No. 1 cause of wrinkles, with dozens of studies documenting the impact. In one study that looked at identical twins, New York plastic surgeon Darrick Antell, MD, found sun exposure was even more important than heredity. Siblings who limited sun time had fewer wrinkles and looked younger overall than their sun-worshiping twins.

2.Wear sunscreen. If you must go out in the sun, the American Academy of Dermatology says, wear sunscreen! It will protect you from skin cancer, and help prevent wrinkles at the same time.

3. Don’t smoke. Some of the research is still controversial, but more and more studies are confirming that cigarette smoke ages skin — mostly by releasing an enzyme that breaks down collagen and elastin, important components of the skin. Sibling studies done at the Twin Research Unit at St. Thomas Hospital in London found the brother or sister who smoked tended to have skin that was more wrinkled and up to 40% thinner than the non-smoker.

4. Get adequate sleep. Yale dermatologist Nicholas Perricone, MD, says that when you don’t get enough sleep, the body produces excess cortisol, a hormone that breaks down skin cells. Get enough rest, Perricone says, and you’ll produce more HGH (human growth hormone), which helps skin remain thick, more “elastic,” and less likely to wrinkle.

5. Sleep on your back. The American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) cautions that sleeping in certain positions night after night leads to “sleep lines — wrinkles that become etched into the surface of the skin and don’t disappear once you’re up. Sleeping on your side increases wrinkles on cheeks and chin, while sleeping face-down gives you a furrowed brow. To reduce wrinkle formation, the AAD says, sleep on your back.

6. Don’t squint — get reading glasses! The AAD says any repetitive facial movement — like squinting — overworks facial muscles, forming a groove beneath the skin’s surface. This groove eventually becomes a wrinkle. Also important: Wear sunglasses. It will protect skin around the eyes from sun damage — and further keep you from squinting.

Water your Wrinkles!

16 May

Ok so you can’t totally get rid of wrinkles with water.  But remembering to drink water is sooooo important with helping with good skin care.  I read a couple of articles about how it helps. Click Here  Water nourishes and hydrates the body and the skin. Hydrated  skin looks more radiant and younger because water plumps up every cell in the  skin and body.  Dehydration is the main cause of dry skin and like I have said before dry skin is one of the biggest reasons for aging.  Making sure your skin is properly moisturized.  It makes the world of difference.  Make sure you drink enough 🙂  Find your water and hydrate.

Flawless and Fair vs. Wrinkly and Dark!

18 Apr

How many of us LOVE the sun.  I do and I LOVED sun bathing.  I would do all the outside chores, I would play the guitar out in the sun.  I would lay a blanket out on the grass and do homework.  I would do a ton just out in the sun! I used to try to be two to three shades darker in foundation and all over.  I have a friend that LOVES to fake bake and she used to tell me “Tan fat is better than white fat!”  haha still makes me laugh.  Although sometimes I think that is true.  I finally decided I would rather have flawless fair skin than Wrinkly dark skin.  Now don’t get me wrong I wish I was just a couple shades darker, but if I have to choose between aging and fair skin I have decided I would rather be fair.  The FDA and health department says we need to have atleast 30spf on our faces every day whether the sun is out or not.  I have a friend that got skin cancer from the iradescent lights in her office building.  You never know where the damage is coming from!  Decide today you are going to take better care of your skin!  I know for me.  I have not sun bathed since high school I go out in the sun.  But I don’t go out for the only purpose to sunbathe and I also put sunscreen on.  I know some of us that are oily skin have problems with sunscreen because it just makes us feel oily.  I had to find a sunscreen that is made specifically for the face and that is light.  Then it didn’t make me more oily and make me feel like grease pit.  So make sure you find the right kind 🙂  Much love to you and your skin!  Take care of it because guess what you will have it for the rest of your life.  You might can pay a doctor to move it around but unless you get a face plant you will have the skin you have chosen to take care of or the lack therof.

Can you “C” Your Wrinkles?

The best skin care means getting good  nutrition into your diet. The asorbic acid contained in vitamin C can be  effective in reducing wrinkles  It also helps build natural collagen. A lot of skin creams contain a rich amount of  vitamin C. Vitamin C can play a role in destroying free radicals. It can also be a natural  way to repair damaged skin, like scar tissue. Vitamin C also plays a role in the  production of collagen as well, and also improves the appearance of  fine lines and wrinkles Vitamin C helps promote healthy skin care.  Click Here if you want to read more about it!

Best Anti-Aging Secret!

7 Mar
Retinol products like Retin A, Retinol Palmitate, and Retinal are antioxidants made from vitamin A.  Topical forms made from Vitamin A are considered to be one of the best anti aging products and effective wrinkle fighters.  They help fight free radicals which cause wrinkles.  They also help with collagen and cell growth which can help with your skin elasticity.  Retin A is a little more extreme and has more side effects your skin can become red and irritated and your skin peels.  You also need to  watch sun exposure after using it because you can have sensitivity to light.
There are a lot of Products that have retinol in them quality and price Vary a lot.  You can get them over the counter and prescription.  I personally don’t think I want to deal with the the problems of peeling skin I would rather use more products or make sure I do it more often than have to deal with peeling skin.  Anyway just my thoughts on the issue.  Get on some 🙂

“Eye”Delizing Your Eyes!

29 Feb

Your eyes are the first place that we show aging.  So one of the first things that we need to make sure is that we have a Fabulous eye cream!  One of the main things about aging is hydration.  If your skin isn’t hydrated watch the wrinkles appear.  So,  number one in an eye cream is make sure that it is very hydrating.  I know that for me you should probably start using an eye cream once you graduate high school.  I KNOW I KNOW  crazy but true.  I thought I was super young and I was and then I was walking down the mall one day and one of the kiosk ladies asked me do you want to know how you can get rid of those eye wrinkles and I was APPAULED  I do not have eye wrinkles.  But I went home and sure enough they had crept up on me.  The sad part is I had a FABULOUS eye cream in my make up bag I just wasn’t consistently using it.  So moral of the story start using it so you don’t have to worry about them coming for years.  Great thing though they dissappeared so even better news people you can reverse the hands of father time!!  A great eye cream can have vitamin c, collagen producing peptides.  You can also look for an eye cream that brightens to help if you have light circles.

Anti-Aging Eye Creams For Wrinkles

  • Wrinkles and fine lines around the eye area are always associated with aging;  ingredients in anti-aging eye creams such as caffeine, alcohol, retinol,  alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA), copper peptides and vitamin C are used to tighten  skin and stimulate collagen growth.
