I have been trying new fun looks. Inspired through photos and colors. There are all sorts of “peacock” eyes some if you look up on google are scary, but some are kind of fun. I wouldn’t suggest this for every age or every eyeshape and definitely not everyday. But this was my take on a peacock eye or multicolor eye. The vibrancy of the blue didnt turn out but I still think it turned out great. I had a lot of compliments and it was just fun! So the reason why I got on this kick of color I was tempted to do streaks of color in my hair like 4 different shades in the front. Decided it was too dramatic, but decided I could change and do some more colorful makeup than usual. So this is my take I have talked about the best color of shadow for your eyes is opposite of the color wheel not green with green, or blue with blue. However if you want to add a little color a little fun I don’t think there is anything wrong with wearing those colors you want to ground your eye with a matte brown to shape the eye and than choose the best colors based off of your skin tone and what you want to try! Have Fun! It is just makeup it won’t kill you. One of the looks I will show later was with green didn’t know if I liked it it was my least favorite at the beginning, but I finished it. By the end I loved how it turned out! Remember it I’d just makeup not brain surgery you can always wash it off if you decide you hate it, but give it a chance :). Lol although I would recommend trying something you aren’t sure of on a slow day not when you have to be at an appt in an hr. Because you might not have enough time to start and do it over 🙂
Check back for the Beautiful eye series in Mastering Makeup Mondays. I loved learning from International Makeup Artist Robert Jones and one of the first things I really tried to master was how to apply eye makeup for specific eye shapes. Today we will focus on the basic or sometimes people will refer to it as a standard eye. Either way you don’t have to tweek your eye shadow to make your eye look any way this is the ideal eye shape, or the eye shape most people want to make their eyes look like. A lot of people really forget the middle color the midtone it is usually the most boring of the three. But it makes the biggest difference! Highlight color should be skin colored or a shade or two lighter. The midtone is usually a shade of brown this shad is usually matte.
It makes a HUGE difference in a lot of eye shapes. It gives depth to your eye. You will be surprised how much more sophisticated your makeup looks when you use all three correctly. The accent color frames the outer part of your eye and if you choose the right color it can emphasis the color your eye as well. If you remember the blog post I did about choosing colors Go opposite of the color wheel if you want to make your eyes pop! Now that is not to say someone with blue eyes can’t wear blue but if you want to POP your blue eyes you shouldn’t 🙂 I just say don’t do it on a regular day basis 🙂 Hope you love my series. Check out for the next 5 or 6 weeks! Hope you enjoy if you have any questions please feel free to let me know!
Ok so I love clothes and fashion in this blog its not really my focus but I have always loved hats, but I never felt like I could pull it off. Sometimes with short hair I feel like it cuts your hair almost at the bottom so it like pokes out funny. What do you think. I have always love the looks. Including this one so cute but not sure I could pull it off click HERE What do you think? I wish I could just every time I try it never seems to look right and I never buy them. I am also excited for spring for all the really colorful and bright colors. I think bright colors make you look more youthful. haha don’t look like rainbow bright though. I don’t think that is a good look 🙂 But how many of you love skinny bright colored jeans I see people wearing them all the time. I still am not super skinny 8-10 depending on what brand. So my past overweight self would say I so couldn’t pull it off. But I think it is so adorable I just don’t like the big on top skinny on bottom. I feel like it can make you look bigger. So what I end up resorting too is popping color with accessories. Jewelry I have recently learned layering your jewelry I learned that on my cruise to Mexico so much fun. Anyway let me know what you think 🙂
Today I am at a fabulous color workshop with makeup artist Robert Jones. He is so fabulous such a great person and he knows his stuff! Cant wait to share makeup trends, eye shapes, colors warm verse cool. etc
Ok so I do agree that we get in a rut. Some of us wear what we used to in high school for years and years. Some of us wear what we did when we thought we looked the best in college. Some people wear what they were told they should like cool colors or warm colors or autumn, spring, summer, winter colors. 🙂 haha I found a little snip of 5 easy steps to get out of a make up rut. I agree with most of the steps 1. and 5 are the ones I have the most problem with just because many people with their skin tone those colors won’t look good on them. For example orange and pale blue and pink. So before you grab a new color odds are warm colors will look better they make you look younger. Try a new warm copper color for eye shadow. Or a warm neutral or coral lip color instead of ashy try warmer colors for your best bet. But check out the article.
Interesting and worth checking out!
